It was rare for Adrianne to be alone at this time. Rarely she was seen with her close friends and at the mall or something, shopping and being together to enjoying the mall before it closed and they headed off a club to enjoy the night. That was how she was, she feared being alone more then anything. One would say that she leaned on her friends for support after her father died, it kept her more stable. That and she didn't like going home- her mother, when she wasn't working would usually mope around the house and cry because she was a willow, even though she got more rich after his death. The only time she dared being at home was for studying for her tests on the late hours of the night, when the library wasn't open. And when her mother was getting sick from malnutrition. Her friends didn't know about that, and Adrianne wanted to keep it that way.
But today- it was rare, she wanted to watch the sunset, walk on the boardwalk, and just have some time to think. It was rare for her to like being alone, but today she felt that there were thoughts that she should let go. Burdens of her family, stress from her school. Things money could buy; like peace. Though the idea that money doesn't buy happiness wasn't true in the least.
Taking her sandals off she stepped into the sand. It was about seven and the sun was setting, setting the sky off a brilliance of warm colors. She took a deep breath, letting the salty sea air fill her lungs before she started to walk along the moist ground, the water lapping at her feet peacefully. She smiled slightly and looked at the sky. Now that she had some peace, she wished for some company. For a moment, she wondered if she should call someone and have them join her.

now and then my head starts to spin, but i'll never turn back, no no! x from this moment on i am moving on, and i'll never turn back, no! a solitary mood had greeted the greek australian when he woke up in his dormitory this morning. he was mostly social, happy and joyful despite haunted by gruesome memories of dead siblings and a crazy mentor, but today... after a sleepless night full of twitching and boredom and nightmares, he managed to fall asleep for a total of three hours before he woke again for school. he had turned anti-social, not wishing for interaction and pushing people away if they asked him what was wrong. it was quite odd to see the hyperactive senior quiet, but to virgil kristos himself it was odd that he was trying to push away the memories of his past back and never turn his head back to look at them.
after all, if you lived in the past where would you go in future? that was one of the things he heard on the night his siblings were murdered in a sudden fit of anger from his tutor – now in a mental asylum. virgil couldn’t sleep but when he did he found himself in a dreamful sleep, not nightmares. the place was on the cliff edge back in greece, where he and his siblings liked to relax before they moved to australia. the sight relaxed virgil into a peaceful rest, and when he had turned his head in that dream he saw his twin sister holding the hands of their younger brother and sister. “don’t live in the past, virgil. don’t feel bad that you survived. we love you and we’ll always be with you, after all, we’re a pack, right?” alaula had said. a pack. of wolves. the kristos children fancied themselves as wolf siblings or dogs, since they all felt loyal to their siblings, and they all had... not boundless energy, but near enough that.
virgil reopened his eyes to look out at the horizon, watching the setting sun with eyes narrowed to avoid them being burned up and turning him blind. he rested his arms on the pier’s fence, bending forward a bit before he lowered his turquoise green eyes to the sea, watching small waves roll in and crash on the surface of the water. he didn’t know what to do. he had kept so silent about his past, but every passing week since he had left for bluewater bay in california, virgil could feel himself having a mental breakdown. he needed to find someone he could completely trust, so that he could explain to them his past... but who? he didn’t trust easy since alistair exploded after that phone call that ruined his calm mood and destroyed three lives. the blonde senior could actually feel himself falling asleep, leaning his arms on the rail. he finally stood straight and made a fast paced journey off the pier to the steps that led down to the beach below the fiesta pier, eventually feeling sand on his feet.
as usual at the start of autumn, virgil was clothed in a tshirt and knee length shorts, complete with sandals on his feet. his hair was slightly ruffled from the sea breezes but hey, it saved him from having to ruffle it himself. hands slid into the pockets of his shorts and he slouched forward a little, staring at the horizon line again before his green optics made their way to a girl walking along the sea, and virgil, aching for company since he was not fond of being left behind, had to wonder how she would react if he introduced himself to her. while he did find it easy to make friends with a sunshine smile of his on his face, he didn’t know if it would be easy in this mood.
oh well.
“hey there,” he said once he had made it to her side but keeping a respectable distance from her so that she didn’t get freaked out and thinking he was some random rapist... but he didn’t look like one... did he? “want some company?” he tilted his head to the side as a dog would, blinking a couple of times as a weak smile, though managing to display friendliness and happiness, appeared on his lips. tagged,,, people count,,, ### lyrics,,, never turn back by crush 40 notes,,, hope ya didn’t mind me invadin’ this thread. :3

It was a quiet time, most people were already packing up for the day and the few people who were left would be some a few people walking their dog or jogging down the sidewalk. Couples even walked along the boardwalk, their laughter carrying out into the air. She barely gave them all a second glance before she continued her casual, easy stroll. Looking at the sky or at the waters for a moment as she walked, sandals in hand, he didn't really expect anyone to talk to her, most were tucking in and getting ready for what the nights bring them, and normally Adrianne would be one of them, dressing up and changing out of the black shorts and stripped shirt she was wearing at the moment and putting on something more fun for the evening. So having said that, it surprised her when someone stopped a few feet away from her and offered her company, his voice reaching her ears.
She looked up before glancing around, at first expecting him to be looking elsewhere and talking to someone else, but he made it clear by the way he looked at her what it wasn't just some girl, it was her. She titled her head to the side before letting out an easy smile, nodding at him. 'Company would be great,' she said softly, slowing to a stop so he could catch up to her before she started to move her legs again. She looked at him for a moment, before finally putting face to name. "You're Virgil, right?' she inquired with a small dip of her head. He was a senior, like her, but they really never really confronted reach other. But he was one of those flamboyant kids who was always smiles and grins. She had seen him around the halls, but no personally.
But it was hard not to know someone in her high school, even though she doesn't talk to much, it's not that big. Unless the person is new or in another class then her, most likely she would know who he was. 'I'm Adrianne,' she offered, encase he didn't know her.

now and then my head starts to spin, but i'll never turn back, no no! x from this moment on i am moving on, and i'll never turn back, no! “company would be great.” was her response, and virgil let a warmer smile grace his lips as he moved to beside her, sliding hands into his pockets and keeping pace with her easily. he then glanced at her face, suddenly realising – a late reaction, no doubt – that she was a senior too. not one he frequently spoke to or was in any classes with, but he had seen her a few times in the corridors of the school or out and about bluewater bay. “yeah, i’m virgil. you can call me virge if ya want though,” he said, a friendly tone to his voice.
“nice to get to know ya, adrianne,” he said, his australian accent mixed with greek thick in his voice, casting a laidback tone to the teenager – he was quite laidback however. “so,” he said, looking up slightly in front of himself as he made conversation, starting to find it easier to bring himself to be more social again. “if ya don’t mind me askin’, why’re you walkin’ ‘long ‘ere by yerself?” usually every time he saw the other senior, she was usually around other girls. he would have expected her to love company, but eh... he could understand if she needed time alone. after all, he needed time alone to think despite being quite a social lad. while he usually disliked being by his lonesome, virgil was quite dependent with small amounts of abandonment issues. tagged,,, people count,,, ### lyrics,,, never turn back by crush 40 notes,,, the accent is hard. i’m trying my hardest to remember oerba yun fang’s voice (ffxiii character with a NICE VOICE and AUSTRALIAN ACCENT) xDD

Adrianne looked at Virgil, noticing his accent; it was hard to miss, but she found it somewhat enduring, something she would love to hear often. As mean as it sounded, she was friends with a few people only because they had an accent, like a British one, or a German one. She smiled at him, Virgil, how come she has never noticed nor talked to her before? She realized it was her last year before she was off, so it was time she got to know as many people as she could before she leave and regret it. He was a perfect example, it was like she lived her life in her own little world, and she needed to get out more. 'Virge,' she repeated, saying the name out loud, remembering it for next time. Who knows, it was the first time officially meeting, not counting the times the apologized for getting in each others way, or giving a nod as they passed each other on the way to class. In fact- she had no idea if he was in any of her classes. Hopefully she wouldn't look stupid like Makala Barns did when Sam told her they that classes together, and they even sit next to each other! She wasn't that oblivious, was she?
Looking at the sky for a moment, she frowned. There were many reasons why she came out to the beach, despite her dislike for any sort of nature. Beaches were alright, but she didn't like the sand as much, so she usually was just on the boardwalk and just watching the fun from afar. 'I guess I was looking for a different crowd,' she said thoughtfully after a moment. That would be it- she wanted to talk to someone knew, her friends were great and all, but everyone as a habit, a pet peeve. And didn't it, after a while of staying a away, will make the heart grow fonder? Either that or she wanted some time along to think in silence without having to hear that her friends would do.
'What about you?' she asked, was he out here because he wanted company too? Maybe that would be why he asked for some company. Or was it another reason?

now and then my head starts to spin, but i'll never turn back, no no! x from this moment on i am moving on, and i'll never turn back, no! a different sort of crowd? virgil blinked slowly, trying to think of a way to take that. there wasn’t many people around, but then she probably meant crowd in the sense of a new person, singular, to speak to. he couldn’t blame her. people always got tired of the same old same old, but the greek australian always found it to feel safe, but also refreshing to have a slow, gradual change in change. he wasn’t too fond of sudden changes and when he went back in to that room...
it was hard adjusting to the sudden change.
“what about you?”
virgil glanced away to look at the sea and the setting sun on the horizon, breathing out silently before he shrugged. “i feel at home by the sea. i feel calm and it brings back...” the senior lifted a hand from his pocket and ruffled his own blonde hair before shrugging a bit again. “good mem’ries,” he said, flashing a smile at adrianne before looking back in front of him, his turquoise green optics showing a fixed hard and stubborn gaze that betrayed sadness. he shook his head a little, refusing to go into the state of a breakdown.
“soo, how’s school been fer ya?” he asked, going to a topic that they would definitely have in common. i mean, they both go to school, and were in their senior year, were they not? hell, they needed to make memories too so that they had more good memories when they left. to virgil, memories were important and defined who you were, and he wanted to show alaula, alexis and jarek that... he had moved on from them, not letting sadness and loneliness rule his life. if he had memories to prove that, then he would be happy and they too would be happy, despite being dead. virgil had always believed that they were roaming the afterlife and watching their old friends and the brother they wanted to be happy, not feeling angry at him being the only survivor. for that, virgil was glad. he didn’t want his family to be haunting his dreams... but alistair was almost family, so...
